(Ocular Response Analyzer)<\/strong>\u00a0is a revolutionary instrument designed to measure intraocular pressure and, simultaneously, the biomechanical properties of the cornea by a simple and quick test.<br \/>This instrument has a new alignment system that makes the pressure test is reliable and accurate, providing excellent results.<\/p><p>It also works through a process of bi-directional dynamic flattening that, aside from taking eye pressure, provides new information on previously unknown terms: Hysteresis Corneal and Corneal Resistance Factor.<\/p><p>All these factors are especially important in cases of refractive surgery,\u00a0<strong>keratoconus<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>glaucoma<\/strong>, among other diseases. This modern instrument also provides the ability to keep track of all shots of the patient, including his presentation at statistical graphs.<\/p><h5 class=\"naranja\">Refraction<\/h5><p>Refraction is known as the procedure used to measure optical defects of the eye and simultaneously determine the correction needed.<\/p><p>The four main refractive errors are: Myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia. They can cause blurred vision at different distances as well as symptoms such as headache, fatigue and sleep, among others. In order to handle these defects, we find several options, which include eyeglasses and contact lenses, mainly.<\/p><p>In addition, the refraction is essential for cases of refractive surgery or LASIK. Within a refractive examination a series of additional tests are made, they have to do with the evaluation of the oculomotor system and muscular, binocular vision, color vision and eye deviations, among others.<\/p><h5 class=\"naranja\">Non-mydriatic retinal camera<\/h5><p>Our clinic has a camera that allows you to digitally capture and store images of retina safely, so that maintains a database of all visits of our patients over time.<\/p><p>Such studies are particularly important to patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma and retinitis pigmentosa, for which periodic checks are necessary and require proper monitoring of your retina, to avoid future complications.<\/p><p>Thanks to this useful tool, the practitioner and the patient will notice if there have been significant changes, this in a graphical manner that allows evacuate any doubt over the previous state of the retina.<\/p><p>Another advantage of this camera is that it is not necessary to use pupil dilating drops to conduct the study. Nor does the application of any intravenous contrast, unlike other similar studies, which makes the most practical and simple test is necessary.<br \/>Our patients get copies of photographs, either printed or digital, for their own control or to serve as a study by other specialists such as endocrinologists, internists and rheumatologists.<\/p><h5 class=\"naranja\">Visual fields<\/h5><p>Also known as perimetry, it is a test to measure visual function in a topographic location of a particular field of vision.<\/p><p>The field, itself, is the portion of the outer or peripheral environment that can be detected at the same time we are making a central fixation on an object.<\/p><p>It is a relatively simple, short test and requires no special preparation.<\/p><p>It is recommended for all cases of glaucoma, since it is one of the tests of choice for the diagnosis and control of this disease. Neurological disorders, treatments for rheumatic diseases, diabetes mellitus, among others, are also causes for this test.<\/p><h5 class=\"naranja\">Pentacam<\/h5><p>So far, the Pentacam is the most specialized equipment, used on the exploration of the anterior segment of the eye.
